With the implementation of upgrades in the public transportation system in the Philippines comes the initiative of being able to replace the current Jeepneys that have been commonly used for many years. Having new upgrades for good use for the environment, such as having upgrades that allow the modern use of transportation.
Have we ever wondered why jeepneys have been the modern use of transport for many years despite the oldness of some vehicles that still function and the most popular choice of transport among Pinoys?
The jeepney originated from the surplus of military jeeps after World War II, when jeeps left had become used for Filipinos and were made as a form of transportation for all. With the problems people experience, such as safety, the harmful effect of the release of gas from the exhaust, and the overall functionality of the vehicle, despite its working condition, people tend to love it, but due to this issue, it becomes a hassle, thus requiring the government to phase it out.
With the new set of propositions set by the DOTr having initial plans for the new modern transportation to replace the old ones, it creates problems not only for some commuters but also for the operators of the jeepneys.
Having this new set of modernized upgrades, which are great, leads to a financial burden for operation and issues in terms of the system when using the brand new vehicles. Commuters are also affected by these fears of having a mode of transportation, which are the increase in fees based on the systems of the Jeepney drivers. With the increase in gas range and problems in earning money from the drivers, we had changes such as today having the minimal fee for transport at a 13 peso range where before it was much less, such as less than 10 pesos excluding the students, and pwd discounts.
With the phasing out of the jeepney on January 1, 2024, in the past months before the phase, numerous keep operators protested having the phase-out lifted, for not only the loss of their income and earnings from driving their jeepney but also trouble. They have problems being able to adjust to the new ones if they are released, and they can increase the fees for them, which some commuters are not fond of.
Whether any of the events are real or fake is something we’ll never know, as supporters of the actors we should be here to respect whatever decision they have decided to make. What is sure however is both of them grew within the public eye, including their relationship.

Having the strikes daily for the past few months has become a hassle, especially for students who use the mode of transportation for learning. Although it results in having online classes instead of face-to-face, it becomes a burden especially for the parents of their children not being able to go to school just for the simplicity of the strike because of the phase-out. Parading on the Road especially EDSA alongside their family not only causes traffic but affects the classes or works of many. Being able to cancel classes and work due to these transport strikes, causes problems for students and affects them in being able to learn due to not being able to go to school. it becomes a problem for students not only resulting in having online classes but also hindrance the learning process that is applicable and effective in face-to-face sessions.
