THE CARE BEHIND EVERY STORY
Speak up.
Write responsibly.
The principles guiding contributions and editorial review on Amplify.
Accuracy comes first
Check names, dates, quotations, figures, and source material before submitting. Distinguish confirmed facts from interpretation. When a detail cannot be verified, make the uncertainty clear.
Give credit
Submit original work and identify all contributors. Credit photographs, illustrations, and outside sources. Do not present someone else’s work as your own. Include source links when they help readers verify a claim.
Respect the people in the story
Write with care for the school community. Avoid sharing private records, personal contact information, or details that could expose someone to harm. Obtain appropriate permission for identifiable photographs and material involving other people.
Keep opinion recognizable
Opinion pieces express a contributor’s perspective. News reporting and personal commentary should be clearly distinguished. A published contribution does not automatically represent every member of the school or publication.
Review before publication
Submissions enter a private editorial inbox. Editors may request clarification, verify information, edit for clarity, or decline a contribution. Writers should retain a copy of their original work. Publication is not guaranteed.
Make corrections visible
If you find an error, use Request a correction and identify the article and disputed detail. Verified substantive corrections should be recorded in the article so readers can understand what changed.
Care for the archive
Historical articles remain marked with their original school year and quarter. Their wording and credits are preserved unless an editorial correction is verified. The website does not invent dates, contributor biographies, or current appointments.
